Names are easier to remember when they arrive with a little colour. In this game, each player pairs their name with a positive describing word that begins with the same sound or letter: Curious Chetan, Brave Bea or Laughing Lina.

At a glance
- Time: 10–20 minutes
- Group: 2 or more
- Setting: Indoors or outdoors
What you need
No materials needed, though blank cards are useful for younger players.
How to play
- Sit where everyone can see and hear one another.
- Give players a quiet minute to choose a kind, playful word. It can describe a quality, an interest or an imaginary superpower.
- Go around the circle. Each person says the two-word name and, if they wish, explains the choice in one sentence.
- After everyone has spoken, try a memory round: point to someone and recall their two-word name.
Keep it comfortable
Do not insist on perfect alliteration. A good word that feels right matters more than matching the first letter. Step in quickly if a suggestion could embarrass someone.
Try this variation
For younger groups, offer picture cards with ideas such as star, explorer, helper, dancer or builder.
What children practise
The small language challenge warms up creative thinking, while the short introduction gives each child a manageable turn to speak.
