Introducing a partner shifts the attention from performing to listening. The key is consent: each person decides what the other may repeat to the group.

At a glance
- Time: 20–30 minutes
- Group: 4 or more
- Setting: Indoors
What you need
Optional prompt cards.
How to play
- Pair people who do not know each other well.
- Offer light prompts: a preferred name, something you enjoy, something you are learning, a place you like or a small everyday skill.
- After five minutes, each person chooses two or three details their partner may share. Private information stays out.
- Take turns giving a 30-second introduction. The partner may add or correct anything.
Keep it comfortable
Avoid the old “tell a secret” version of this game. Nobody should be asked for confidential, embarrassing or identifying information.
Try this variation
For younger children, use illustrated prompts and let each pair introduce one shared interest.
What children practise
The activity rewards accurate listening and gives every participant control over their own story.
