This game replaces formal introductions with a simple mission: return a name tag to its owner. It works well when a class, club or workshop is meeting for the first time.

At a glance
- Time: 10–15 minutes
- Group: 10–30
- Setting: A room with space to move
What you need
Large, clearly written name tags.
How to play
- Give each player someone else’s name tag. Make sure nobody receives their own.
- Players move around the room, introduce themselves and ask whether the tag belongs to the person they are meeting.
- When someone finds the owner, they hand over the tag and stay nearby as a helper until every tag has reached the right person.
- Finish with a quick circle in which each player says the name of one person they met.
Keep it comfortable
Use the name and pronunciation each child prefers. Keep walking optional and make the game work equally well from chairs or fixed places.
Try this variation
For a quieter version, pass the tags around a seated circle and let the group offer clues.
What children practise
Each player repeats several names in a real conversation, which is far easier to remember than hearing a long roll call.
