The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is set to conduct a review of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), which was last published in 2005. NCERT director Hrushikesh Senapaty said that the preliminary work on the review of the last NCF has begun and the committee to undertake this big exercise in school education reform will be formed shortly after the result of the general elections. NCF provides the framework for creation of school syllabi and writing of textbooks, while giving guidelines on teaching practices in India.
