MHRD, Govt. Of India launches Shagun, one of the largest online integrated portals on school education

The website and app will integrate over 2.3 lakh existing education portals

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India has launched one of the largest integrated online junctions, the Shagun portal, in a bid to enhance the accessibility of information relating to schools and to ensure a holistic, transparent approach to school education. The website and app will integrate over 2.3 lakh existing education portals and have a feedback provision for parents to promote accountability. Report cards of 15 lakh schools all over the country will be available on the portal, school wise, block-wise, district-wise, constituency-wise, state-wise and region-wise. It will also provide information on schools nearby and navigable vis-à-vis aerial distance between schools so as to help policymakers to take informed decisions.
