Description

The smart generation knows how to make its way to its favorite apps. Children are often found playing subway surfer for even hours at stretch. Let’s take a look at what is driving these kids to invest themselves in it like this.

Subway Surfers is an endless runner mobile game. It is available on Android, iOS, Kindle, and Windows Phone platforms. In the game, players take the role of young graffiti artists who, upon being caught in the act of applying graffiti to a metro railway site, where they run through the railroad tracks to escape from the inspector and his dog. As they run, they grab gold coins, power-ups and other items along the way while simultaneously dodging collisions with trains and other objects, and can also jump on top of the trains and surf with hoverboards to evade the capture until the character crashes on an obstacle, getting caught by the inspector or getting hit by a train.

Every game has its own positives and negatives but what matters is which one outweighs the other. In an attempt to articulate its attributes, I leave it up to the parents to decide which one outweighs the other.

According to me Subway Surfer is an attractive game and good for timepass but for children or even elders who do not know the time limits for playing it should be supervised by a responsible person i.e. parents in case of children.

Pros

Time-pass / Reward: A game is always a good time pass. Also, you can lure your children into doing their homework or completing any task by giving them a chance to play Subway Surfer as a reward. It is like a source of motivation.

Introduction to technology with the help of games: Like any other mobile app or game, Subway Surfer inevitably helps children to use cellphones on their own and learn about technology from a very tender age.

Educational value: Though it doesn’t serve much of an educational value but it depicts that the crime is always served with punishment even if you run far away from it. The culprit is always caught when the game gets over.

Reflex ability: The game enhances reflex ability in the most jubilant manner. After playing the game for a while, dodging the obstacles coming our way, our reflex develops itself and we endure the game for a longer time.

Cons

Consumption of time: Like I initially said, children often play it for hours at stretch. The urge to score higher and higher takes up more time than we should give to it. This disrupts our whole time-management regime.

Addiction: Excess of anything is not good for our health. The game is very addictive if not curbed by any time bound. Sometimes children neglect their important aspects like education or even food to continue playing the game.

Eyesight: Looking at mobile screen or computer screen for a long time affects your eyesight adversely which is becoming a common problem in this generation.
